As we enter week 15 of the NFL season, the tone is certainly different in Chicago. The Bears have won three straight games, and Mitchell Trubisky put on a show last Thursday night against the Cowboys. People are wondering whether the Bears are back, or if they’re set to break our hearts at Lambeau Field this Sunday.
To me, it can really go either way. Roquan Smith was just ruled out for the rest of the season with a pectoral injury, which is a huge blow for the defense. The Bears need all hands on deck if they’re going to contain Aaron Rodgers and the rest of the Green Bay offense. Overall, though, I’m confident the defense is going to make it a game.
The biggest question comes from the offense. Are they finally finding their groove? The past few games, the Bears have seen rather mediocre defenses, which could give you false hope. I believe they needed those types of games to really find their offensive identity, though. The Bears have a rough schedule coming up as they have the Chiefs and Vikings following the Packers. The offense is finally getting into the end zone frequently, and it’s something fan have missed this season.
The next three games are all must-wins to keep the Bears’ playoff chances alive, and it really all comes down to their success on the offensive side and their ability to still dominate on the defensive side, despite injuries.
