Promotions

The Promotions Department is made up of individuals interested in promoting the station within the community and to the world via the Web. We work hard to maintain the WONC image and recruit new listeners! Throughout the day, WONC holds contests giving away items donated by many local and national businesses.

To contact the Promotions Department for more information or if your business is interested in donating items to be given away as prizes on air contact the Promotions Department at:

News

The news department at WONC features newscasts throughout the day (from 6:55 a.m. to 5:55 p.m.) at 55 minutes past the hour. In addition, we provide traffic reports each newscast and at 15 and 40 minutes past each hour during both rush hours.

We realize that in the morning most commuters need information served up fast and piping hot, so, from 7 to 9 a.m. each weekday, we feature an hourly newscast as well as our traffic reports and frequent weather updates. Newsmakers, a weekly program offering interviews with individuals of local, national, or international interest is aired every Sunday at 7:30 a.m.

For any inquiries, please contact the news department at (630) 637-5961.

Underwriting

What is Underwriting?

Underwriting is an alternative to advertising with WONC, a non-commercial radio station.

Benefits to Underwriting

Announcements are unobtrusive and WONC does not cluster five or six of them into a four-minute break like a regular commercial break. Your message stands alone - it does not have to compete for the listener's attention.

Its inexpensive, underwriting support to WONC is tax-deductible!
You'll be assisting WONC to continue its popular community oriented programming with your contribution.

For more information or rates, take a look at our underwriting packet, or contact the Underwriting Department:
