Four Players to Look Out for in Week 7 of Fantasy Football

by Adrian Martinez-De la Cruz

My picks last week didn’t do as well as I thought they would. Fitzpatrick got benched for Tua. Mike Davis was kept in check by the Bears defense (which personally I’m okay with). And the Colts defense struggled to contain Joe Burrow and the Bengals offense. But, it’s a new week and a new set of picks I’m feeling good about. So, here are four players to look out for in Week 7:

Justin Herbert – QB (Sun vs. Jaguars 3:25p.m.)

Ever since starting in Week 2, Herbert has averaged 21.8 fantasy points per game. He threw for four touchdowns vs. the Saints in Week 5, getting him 27.3 points. He’s coming off a bye week and I’m sure he’s hungry to dominate a Jacksonville defense that ranks 30th in the league.

Browns – D/ST (Sun @ Bengals 12:00p.m.)

While the Browns defensive is only ranked 12th, I expect them to rebound after getting bullied by their big brother, the Steelers. While I don’t expect them to dominate the Bengals offense, they should do better than the 3 fantasy points the Colts were able to manage against Joe Burrow.

Chase Claypool – WR (Sun @ Titans 12:00p.m.)

The Steelers know how to draft wide receivers. In recent years, they’ve drafted players like Antonio Brown, Emmanuel Sanders, and JuJu Smith-Schuster. Rookie Chase Claypool further proves this point. He scored 42.6 fantasy points in Week 5 vs. the Eagles and followed that up with a not as impressive, but still strong, 18.1 points in Week 6 vs. the Browns. While Diontae Johnson is expected to return this week from injury, Claypool has shown he’s too good to be benched.

Cairo Santos – K (Mon @ Rams 7:15p.m.)

Santos is the 18th ranked kicker, but I feel he’s very underrated. He’s averaged 7.2 fantasy points this season and scored 13 points vs. the Panthers last week. He went 3-for-3 in field goal attempts, including a career-long 55-yarder, a performance that earned him the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week. He’ll be critical for the Bears, whose offense has struggled all season and will have to face a Rams defense that ranks 7th.
