The 2021 Men’s and Women’s CCIW Tournaments have been re-announced after a team in both the men’s and women’s tournaments had to drop out due to COVID protocols. The women’s tournament will now run from March 4th to March 9th, and the men’s tournament will now run from March 6th to March 12th. More information on the tournament can be found at cciw.org, with the women’s tournament here and the men’s tournament here.
CCIW Women’s Basketball Tournament
NCC Women’s Basketball (2-10) comes in as the 8th seed and will face off against #1 seed Millikin (8-3) in the quarterfinals on 7:00 PM Thursday at Millikin. The winner of that game will go on to face the winner of the #5 Augustana (4-5) and #4 Carroll (6-5) in the semifinals. A keynote for the tournament is that former #1 seed Wheaton (11-1) had to drop out due to COVID protocols, resulting in all teams moving up a seed.
CCIW Men’s Basketball Tournament
NCC Men’s Basketball (5-5) originally came in as 5th seed scheduled to face off against 4th seeded Augustana (6-4) in the quarterfinals, but that game has been canceled and NCC Men’s Basketball has dropped out of the tournament due to COVID protocols. Below you can see the updated bracket for the rest of the CCIW.
All CCIW tournament games will be broadcasted by the host team. WONC Sport will provide a full tournament recap next week on The Cardinal Podcast, game recaps during our daily sports updates at 8:25 AM, 2:25 PM, & 9:55 PM, and on Twitter @WONCSports.
