Originally conceived as a solo project by Mia Berrin, this Brooklyn-based indie rock band has been making waves with their distinctive blend of punk, grunge, and pop influences. Pom Pom Squad evolved into a full-fledged band as Berrin assembled a talented lineup to bring her musical vision to life, delving deep into themes of identity, vulnerability, and personal growth, often drawing from her own experiences with mental health challenges and societal pressures.
In 2019, Pom Pom Squad released their debut EP, Hate It Here, garnering critical acclaim with for tracks like “Heavy Heavy” and “Cherry Blossom” which showcased their ability to juxtapose gritty guitar riffs with Berrin’s powerful vocals, creating a sound that is both nostalgic and refreshingly modern. In 2024, they released their second full-length album, Mirror Starts Moving Without Me, and continue captivating audiences with their electrifying live performances.
