At FM89, we play a ton of artists daily, and sometimes it’s difficult to keep track of them all. Have no fear! We’re here to straighten this ordeal out and give you some quick information on those you hear over the airwaves in a series we like to call A Little Birdie Told Me. In this series, we’ll be giving a brief biography of an artist and reveal some fun facts about them that might surprise you (or at least make you remember them). With that out of the way, it’s time to talk about our first artist: Ben Harper.
A hodgepodge of blues and folk, Ben Harper’s soft-spoken, yet thought-provoking lyrics, interwoven with charismatic chords have made him a success. With three Grammys and over fifteen studio albums under his belt, it’s his talent of recognizing music as an important facet in society that keeps him rooted in authenticity. Among his solo work, Ben Harper’s catalogue also includes works in other projects he has been involved in such as Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals.
And now onto some fun facts about Ben Harper:
- He’s an avid skateboarder, having first started in the late 70s.
- He’s related to Samuel Chase, one of the many people who signed the Declaration of Independence.
- When reading books, Ben refuses to start a new one until he’s finished the one he’s currently on (even if he despises it)
That wraps up this edition of A Little Birdie Told Me. Check back soon for more, and continue rocking out to FM89!
